Methodology
What we publish
Supplier profiles contain business-registration data only: GSTIN, Import Export Code (IEC), firm structure, GST registration date, locality, self-declared turnover band, declared export markets, product keywords and links to other firms where an official register records them. We do not publish home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or details about individuals.
Where it comes from
- Each supplier's own IndiaMART "Company Brief" page, which publishes GST, IEC, legal status and turnover band.
- Company registry aggregators built on Ministry of Corporate Affairs filings, for directorships.
- Official legislation and regulator publications (legislation.gov.uk, gov.uk, DEA, TGA) for legal status.
We cite supplier-owned pages as text rather than links, so this site does not send visitors to sellers.
Confidence labels
Every fact carries one of four labels.
- Declared
- What the supplier says about itself, for example on its IndiaMART Company Brief. We report it accurately, but it has not been checked on an official register.
- Verified
- Checked against an official register (GST portal, DGFT or MCA) or, for legal status, the legislation or regulator, and found to match. The page shows the date of the check and links the register.
- Inferred
- Reasoned from indirect evidence. Links between firms are never shown on this basis: a link appears only when an official register record (GST portal or MCA) supports it, with the register cited.
- Unverified
- Not yet checked against any source, or checked and found not to match. Treat it as a lead, not a finding.
Validation checks
A PAN-format IEC should equal the PAN contained in characters 3 to 12 of the GSTIN. Where it does not, we show a neutral "data discrepancy" note. There are ordinary explanations, such as an IEC held by a related entity or a data-entry error, and a discrepancy is never treated as evidence of wrongdoing. Legacy 10-digit numeric IECs cannot be compared this way and are marked as not comparable.
GST portal and DGFT checks are recorded separately and show "Not yet checked" until done.
Legal-status pages
Legal-status pages are informational. For any molecule that is controlled in a market we track, we show no sourcing links, no supplier links and no enquiry routing to suppliers. UK pages use UK regulatory terms and cite the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001 and the Human Medicines Regulations 2012. They are general information, not legal advice.
